The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported nine new cases of COVID-19 today, with two of those coming from the agri-farm sector. The total number of cases for our region is now 1,780 with no new deaths reported.
Local municipal leaders and the CEO of Erie Shores Healthcare held a webinar today to discuss the COVID-19 outbreaks in the agri-farm sector. Officials from around the region say the situation requires greater co-ordination between the federal and provincial government than can be provided locally. You can watch the full webinar here.
Statistics Canada has released a new report that reports 953,000 jobs were added last month across the country and Windsor’s jobless rate fell from 16.7 per cent to 15.2 per cent. Only Edmonton and Calgary had higher unemployment rates, at 15.7 per cent and 15.6 per cent respectively.
The provincial government announced support for the Ontario Made program today to promote goods made across the province by helping consumers easily identify, access and purchase local products to help strengthen the Province’s economy. More information can be found here.
