COVID-19 Update - August 24

Published on August 24, 2020

Good evening,

Today, there were 4 new cases of COVID-19 in our region. Three of the cases were from retirement home residents and one was from the agri-farm sector. There are now 2,470 confirmed cases and 72 deaths.

For those who are seeking a COVID-19 test, Windsor Regional Hospital is conducting testing tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, outside the St. Clair College Sportsplex from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you are a tourism or hospitality worker, help is available through the Tourism & Hospitality Emergency Response. Visit for information on training, employment supports, and relief programs. You can also register for the Tourism & Hospitality Workers’ Registry to receive information about job opportunities, safe return to work, and regional and virtual employment services.  This initiative is led by OTEC and funded by the Government of Canada’s Future Skills Centre and the Government of Ontario.

A friendly reminder that if you have any questions or concerns about provincial issues and you are a constituent of Windsor-Tecumseh, please contact my office at [email protected] or 519-251-5199. The office is open by appointment only.

Please continue to practice physical distancing of 2 metres, washing your hands frequently, and wearing your mask in public.
